Each player starts Magic with a 20 life-counter. The player wins the game by knocking his/her opponent down to zero life. Although it can be played in teams or in a large free-for-all. Magic it’s most often played against a single opponent.

The first step in Magic is to familiarize yourself with the different kinds of cards. Your 60 card-deck represents all the weapons in your arsenal: Creatures, Instants, Spells, Enchantments, Artifacts and Mana-Land. Each card will then create an unexpected twist/effect to the game.

Players will then proceed in choosing his/her gaming style. In Magic, there are five basic play-styles that are represented by their unique colors. Based on the gaming style, players can focus on healing and restoration (White), power of control (Blue), death and decay (Black), speed and fire (Red) or big creatures (Green). It's always recommended to build a two colored deck.
